The Revenue District of Kaimur with its Headquarter at Bhabua has been created in 1991 and the Judgeship of Kaimur with its Headquarter at Bhabua has been created on 3rd july 1999.

This Judgeship is bounded by Buxer and Rohtas Judgeship on North, Garhwa Judgeship (under Jharkhand State) on South, The District of Chandauli and Mirzapur of the U.P. State on the West and the district of Rohtas (Under Bihar State). Lie on its East Boundary.

The nearest Railway station, Bhabua Road (Mohaniya) is about 14 K.M away From Bhabua and it is Connected with Road Link. The Historic G.T. Road (NH-2) passes through the territorial Juris diction. of this Judgeship and it is also 14 K.M away i.e. Mohaniya. The NH. 30 also passes through the territorial jurisdiction of this judgeship that judgeship that connect this judgeship with the capital of Bihar i.e Patna.

The Historic Karmnasha river is situated at the western side of this judgeship that bifureates this judgeship aswell as state of Bihar From U.P.

There are so many religious Place situated within the Boundary of the District. The Mundeshwari Temple situated on the top of the hill is just 10 K.M. away from the headquarter in Bhagwanpur Block and it is the oldest temple of the country and have been built around the Year 635 A.D.

Rauza of Bakhtiyar Khilji is situated at chainpur 10 K.M. away from the headquarter in western side.

The southern area of the judgeship comprises hilly area and Kaimur Plateau whether the famous Adhaura Mountain is situated consisting of dence forest and wild lifes. The Adhaura is situated at height of 3000 ft. from the sea level whether famous Telhar Kund and Karakat Garh as well as hill make it an ideal tourist spot.

Originaly this judgeship was a sub-Division of Sahabad at Arrah. In 1979 after the creation of Rohtas judgeship at Sasaram it became the part of Rohtas judgeship till 3rd of July 1999. The judgeship was inaugrrated by Hon'ble Mr. Justice B.P. Singh the then acting chief Justice of Bihar (retired as Hon'ble Supreme Court Judge).

Sri Hari Shanker Prasad (elavated in the Bench of Hon'ble Jharkand High Court) was the first Distt. Judge of this judgeship.

In the year 1922 Mukhtar Assiciation was established and in the year 1963 Advocate Bar Association was established and in the year 1966 Mukhtar Association merged in the Advocate Association. The assocition building was constructed in the year 1942 by the Mukhtar Association and later on the Building has been modified and extended by the Advocate Assiciation. At Present there are near about 1000 members in the association.
